2021 is coming to a close, but there is no shortage of awesome game releases. As tempting as it is to look toward 2022 releases like Horizon: Forbidden West or Elden Ring, don’t overlook these exciting titles. Here are some December 2021 video game releases to check out!
December 2: Solar Ash
The newest game from the developers of Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash, was originally set to release in October 2021. However, the release date was delayed until December for its PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC release.
December 7: Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
Coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the fourth expansion for the MMO. “Endwalker brings the tale of Hydaelyn and Zodiark to a conclusion eons in the making. To unravel its mysteries and conquer its challenges will be no common feat. May these records of key figures, looming adversaries, and lands yet untraveled serve you well.”
December 8: Halo Infinite
After multiple delays and setbacks, Halo Infinite is finally releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. However, it will be releasing without the co-op campaign and forge mode, so users will have to wait until Spring of 2022 for the full experience.
December 9: Loop Hero
Loop Hero is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch and is available for preorder now! “The Lich has thrown the world into a timeless loop and plunged its inhabitants into neverending chaos. Wield an expanding deck of mystical cards to place enemies, buildings, and terrain along each unique expedition loop for the brave hero.”
December 9: Wytchwood
Coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, Wytchwood seems like a perfect cozy game to waste away those chilly winter afternoons. “Wytchwood is a crafting adventure game set in a land of gothic fables and fairytales. As the old witch of the woods, explore a strange countryside, collect magic ingredients, brew sorcerous spells, and pass judgement upon a capricious cast of characters.”
December 14: Among Us
At this point Among Us needs no introduction, but the wildly popular game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. An exclusive Ratchet & Clank skin, hat, and pet will be available to PlayStation users, but this is a cross-play title.
December 16: Alien: Isolation
Originally released for consoles and PC in 2014, Alien: Isolation is coming to iOs and Android.
December 16: Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach
The newest iteration of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC in December. “Security Breach is a first-person, survival horror game set in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex. You play as Gregory, a little boy who’s trapped inside overnight.” And, believe it or not, you’ll have to rely on Freddy Fazbear to make it out alive.
