As we reported yesterday, Hideo Kojima had a quite long speech at Tokyo Game Show 2018 during a PlayStation panel, where he discussed Death Stranding and the development process at Kojima Productions.

First of all, he was very surprised about seeing so many people at the panel, which was probably the most anticipated one at TGS 2018 and that’s the main reason why that happened.

“At the moment we’re in the phase where I’m holding the controller the whole day, embedding new elements while playing the game,” Kojima said about the status of the making of the title.

“Development is going well,” he added. “It’s a completely new game. Things are going according to plan, but there’s one thing,” he explained about the reason why it’s getting a bit slower than he expected.

“Due to the videogame voice actor strike by (labor union) SAG-AFTRA that started in 2016 and lasted a year, I couldn’t record with Norman (Reedus) and Mads (Mikkelsen) during that period. So there are some parts we are still recording.”

Also, in the trailer, he said, “When he [Troy Baker’s character] takes off his mask and pushes it to the ground, men appear out of the mud. I’m one of them. You should be able to recognize one character who’s wearing glasses, so that’s me.”

That’s a confirm of something fans had already noted in previous trailers. The game still lacks a release date and the Japanese director didn’t want to confirm that it will be out before the setting of Akira (2019).

So, that’s it – Death Stranding is a PS4 exclusive and is out at some point during the last few months of the gen.
