The hype of Deadpool 3 hasn’t died since it was announced, especially not when Wolverine was confirmed to be joining the movie. The newest Marvel Studio directors are teasing fans about what to expect in this new, first-ever, R-rated Marvel movie. This is the first time in history that Marvel Studios will be diving into R-rated content both in theaters and on Disney+. They have had a series of R-rated content before like The Punisher or Wolverine’s final movie Logan, however, the Disney+ Marvel content has always been PG-13.

The Hype For Deadpool 3 Is Huge

Many fans are worried about the future with many Marvel characters and films like Daredevil: Born Again…considering the Daredevil series was R-rated on Netflix before moving to Disney+. However, with Moon Knight, it was supposed to be R-rated but they kept it PG-13 for Disney+.  People fear that Deadpool’s debut won’t be aggressive enough for the character in the MCU…however, that might not be the case anymore. The director of Deadpool 3 spoke with Collider about working with his team to develop this movie, touching on it being the Marvel’s first R-rated movie.

“We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping ‘Deadpool’ every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a ‘Deadpool’ movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It’s too fun.”

“I’m having so much fun, and I haven’t even hit the shooting floor yet. […] I have to say, developing a Deadpool movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because it’s not just that it’s rated R. It’s that it’s so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to that franchise.”

With Deadpool 3 being praised for its R-rated content, it would change the future of Marvel movies on Disney+ and theaters. Deadpool 3 is set to release in 2024 around November.
