Dead Rising has been a franchise ripe for the big screen. It has everything, zombies, likable characters and an interesting government outbreak plot that ties it all together. Crackle is set to release the first movie adaptation of the video-game franchise.

Dead Rising: Watchtower is set to take fans through the first few days of the zombie epidemic. It will follow a group of survivors stuck within a quarantine zone when a government vaccine fails to stop the outbreak. It has all the elements of a Dead Rising movie, comedy, Zombrex, and Frank West. Check out the trailer below.

Despite the inclusion of funnyman, Rob Riggle as Frank West, it seems that he will spend most of his time at the news room giving his take on the outbreak and the quarantine zone. This would setup a sequel movie plot where Frank West would drop into the quarantine zone like in the original Dead Rising video-game. This is just speculation, but it would make sense.

In addition to Rob Riggle, Watchtower will also star Jesse Metcalfe, Keegan Connor Tracey, Dennis Haysbert and Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time fame. Dead Rising: Watchtower is set to stream exclusively on Crackle beginning on March 27th.
