Dead Island 1, which debuted in 2011, was met with plenty of excitement from the gaming community. The game’s significant sales success and pretty large fan base necessitated a sequel. At first, the developer Techland was expected to lift the curtain on the sequel in a few years. However, things did not go as planned, and Techland later left the game’s development. At some point, players lost all hope for Dead Island 2, but now Dambuster Studios is behind the wheel, and after 8 turbulent years, the sequel game is truly in the pipeline. So, a new gameplay trailer for Dead Island 2 was recently revealed, which increased the players’ excitement before the launch.
The New Dead Island 2 Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Los Angeles
Dead Island 2 was announced and received its first trailer at E3 2014, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival ever since. But issues in the development process caused the sequel to be delayed for 12 years. Anyway, a while ago, a new gameplay trailer arrived and showcases open-world, Los Angeles.
The new gameplay trailer highlights the game’s tour of Jacob and Amy, two of Dead Island 2‘s six hunters, in zombie-infested Los Angeles. In the first part of the trailer, Jacob explores both the good and the dark sides of Los Angeles. He also encounters other survivors of the outbreak. However, we do not yet know their identities. In the trailer’s other part, Amy takes control and talks about the combat possibilities like slicing, kicking, trampling, burning and using guns in the game. Besides, the variety of weapons in the upcoming game will be more than in the original game. Katanas, machetes, swords, baseball bats, and different types of hammers will be available.
Dead Island 2 is set to be released on April 28, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
