It’s that time of the month again as DC Comics has unveiled their July 2021 solicitations late last night via Newsarama. While a few announcements were already revealed, there are plenty of surprises for DC Universe fans, both old and new.

Aside from the usual goings-on, a few new series have us particularly hyped.

The boys are back in town! The fan-favorite duo that is Booster Gold and Blue Beetle return for a new Blue and Gold miniseries. Written by Booster’s creator Dan Jurgens and with superstar Ryan Sook on art, the series will feature Booster and Beetle attempting to become internet celebrities. What could possibly go wrong for DC Comics’ resident odd couple?

DC Comics’ Superman line gets a creative refresh with Tom Taylor and John Timms relaunching the flagship book as Superman: Son of Kal-El. We’ve actually got a bit more information on this relaunch and other changes to the Superman family here.

We also have a new Shazam miniseries by Tim Sheridan and Clayton Henry. This storyline will follow up on threads Sheridan left during DC Comics’ Future State: Shazam series. With Billy searching for why his family’s powers have been acting up all while going through superhero puberty at Titans Academy, it’s certainly going to be a unique take on the World’s Mightiest Mortal.
